WELCOME TO NURSERY SUPPORT

Nursery Support Services was established in 1978 to provide temporary teachers to Child Care centres throughout Metro Toronto.

Many of our teachers have high qualifications and years of experience, while others are starting their careers. All would agree that supply teaching is a unique vocation, requiring the ability to adapt to a variety of programs and people.

Kelly Drysdale and Raquel Polera answer the phones and take requests for teachers from our clients. They work hard to match the right teacher with the individual needs of each Child Care centre.

By setting the following guidelines, we can make our work more enjoyable and worthwhile.

TEACHER REQUIREMENTS

Nursery Support Services provides RECEs and Child Care Assistants to Child Care centres to help with their supply staffing needs. We are seeking staff that can be available for a variety of shifts, ranging from 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. We serve Child Care centres anywhere in the city of Toronto. Teachers may travel approximately one hour to reach their assignments. Factors such as flexibility, availability and performance determine how much work you will have.

We try to make the assignments the evening before, so teachers need to be available by phone between 8 and 10 pm to receive bookings. We also cover same day bookings. This means that any teacher who is not already booked should be prepared to leave home by 7 am and be available by telephone from 7 to 10 am to receive same day assignment calls

All applicants must provide the following documents

An up-to-date resume.
Two references from people you have worked with in a Child Care setting, naming their position, name of the Child Care centre, and phone numbers where we can reach the references.
A valid First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
Your most recent vulnerable sector Police Criminal Reference Check.
Your RECE registration or certificate for Assistants (if applicable).

An up-to-date immunization record showing date received and booster if required:

Tetanus, Diphtheria.
Or Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis (Adecel).
Mumps, Measles, Rubella or Titre.
Chicken pox (Varicella) or Titre.
Meningococcal C Vaccine (15 to 25 years).
Hepatitis B.
Tuberculin Skin Test (Mantoux).
Chest X-Ray if Required Date, Result.
