Company Profile

Nursery Support Services was the first “temp agency” for Child Care centres in Toronto. In 1978, Joyce Greggains, ECE, was a Supervisor working in a busy Child Care centre. She saw first-hand the challenges of keeping her program running smoothly when staff needed time off for vacation or due to illness. So that year she started Nursery Support as a solution. Her daughter, Sarah Newberry, joined in the early 1980s, and was the voice on the phone taking client bookings for many years. Kelly Drysdale and Ellen Armstrong took over that responsibility when Sarah became Director upon Joyce’s retirement.

Now 40 years and hundreds of Toronto Child Care centres later, we continue to offer experienced, qualified and caring Registered Early Childhood Educators and Early Childhood Assistants. Nursery Support’s carefully chosen staff arrive at our clients with the special skills needed to adapt to a wide variety of programs and people. You, the client can feel comfortable inviting our teachers into your centre knowing all background checks have been done, and that each teacher will arrive with copies of all required professional documents. Nursery Support teachers are current in First aid/CPR Level C and trained under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

Nursery Support provides all our RECEs and Assistant with WSIB insurance coverage. That way, should one of our employees be injured at a client’s workplace, we look after the claim process and our client’s WSIB rates are not affected. We feel it’s the best way to both protect workers and help our clients better manage and reduce the impact of injuries in the workplace. We also carry Liability Insurance.
